What is your core product? -
We manufacture and sell a steel framed, foam
insulated wall panel system that assembles quickly and easily so a person with
average skills
and minimal tools can erect the frame of their own home themselves,
Why do you use steel instead of wood? -
Steel is 1/3 lighter and 10 times stronger than wood.
When combined with our soy based foam insulation it creates an extremely strong
and durable
building envelope that is fire retardant, mold and mildew resistant, energy
efficient and rated for a
120 mph wind load.
Is it really easy to assemble? -
3 people can erect the walls of a 1000 sq ft home in about 5 hours
using a ladder, screw gun, circular saw and a sawz-all.
Do you need a crane to help with the assembly? -
No. The panels are light and portable enough for
2 people to move and set them.
What comes with a DIY home building kit? -
Most people purchase the wall systems and roof panels only
erect them on a locally purchased floor system. They'll also purchase the truss
system locally due to their
size and the shipping logistics.
Can I purchase the floor and roofing system
from you too? -
We do manufacture those components
and include them in our complete kits.
What if I don't want to assemble them myself? -
Kokoon Homes offers construction services for a
reasonable fee.
What if I DO want to assemble them myself? -
Kokoon Homes offers
training and consultation for those
who want to act as Owner/Builder and save even more money.

What type of foundation can the walls be placed on? -
Slab, crawl or basement. The wall system will
accommodate any foundation type.
What about installing plumbing, electric and HVAC? -
We consulted with subcontractors during the
design process to ensure that the wall systems were prepared for easy
installation of utilities to save
you time and money. The high r-value soy foam leaves enough space within the
metal framework to allow for easy wire
installation. This allows the homeowner complete control over outlet location
How much is shipping? -
We ship within 300 miles of our factory for free and charge $going rate$ per
mile
thereafter.
Do you ship internationally? -
Yes. We have designed our wall systems to be container shippable.
Why are your homes eco - friendly? -
We use recycled American steel (the average home uses 7
recycled autos) and regional grown soy based spray foam insulation. Our
manufacturing facility is
energy efficient, uses recycled rainwater and has minimal material waste, which
is recycled. We
also use locally produced steel and windows to reduce the carbon footprint of
the delivery portion of
the manufacturing process. Our homes are designed to save you up to 50% off your
power bill.
What is
LEED? LEED
stands for Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). www.usgbc.org
Are the homes LEED rated? -
Our homes currently meet the GOLD standard rating as established by
the National Home Builders Association. Owner site management and correct
implementation can raise rating to the
Platinum standard.
Do you offer Off - Grid Options? -
Yes. We can outfit your home with solar power and water heating,
compost toiletry and rainwater collection system.
Can I become a dealer for Kokoon Homes? -
Yes. We have 2 levels of dealers.
The first level is Authorized Dealer. For less than $1975.00 you receive
a wall sample package, initial marketing materials, website link and commission
on all sales.
The 2nd level is Builder/Dealer.
You receive a 16 x 24 , fully self contained Kokoon Home, marketing materials,
website link and exclusive sales leads for your area.
Investments buildings start at $ 20,000 Our location director will help with
site placement. Most commercial locations can be
leased at a tremendous discount using our formula for a successful launch.
